"One of the main values of our space is the great diversity of the public. We do activities with children aged three, four or five and at the same time with people aged seventy or seventy-five", explains Iñigo Alcorta, facilitator of the Punt Òmnia Betsaida. In this sense, throughout the course, the Punt Òmnia Betsaida , which is located at Monges Street, number 2-6, in the town of Badalona, offers numerous training proposals adapted to each reality. First of all, the Punt TIC works on computational thinking, creativity and imagination with children. "With them, we try not to use screens or for them to be complementary", says Alcorta. The Punt TIC also focuses on academic and professional guidance with young people, offering information and sharing tools, resources and materials for the choice of training proposals, and promotes 3D printing, photography and audiovisual. "Some of the activities in the space are with the boys and girls from the Casal dels Infants de Badalona and the Open Adolescent Centre in the neighbourhoods of Llefià and Sant Roc. We want to strengthen their bond with the environment and at the same time offer moments of support, listening and enjoyment", assures Alcorta. Likewise, the Punt TIC energizes computer courses for adults, from courses for job search and employability taught in collaboration with the Public Employment Service of Catalonia to basic computer courses to acquire the skills to delve into the use of digital devices.
Along these lines, this July, the ICT Point has energized a successful photography activity with lights and shadows. "We enjoyed a fun photography activity, where the group of teenagers was able to learn how to use professional cameras and play with lights and shadows", points out Alcorta. "We try to spread the word among our surroundings and among our community. We want the neighbors to know the Omnia Point, to explore the training proposals, to come and use the space and to participate in the activities", adds Alcorta. In this sense, the ICT Point promotes networking and strengthens ties with groups, entities and associations. "In our country, entities, neighborhood associations, schools, institutes and educational centers help us a lot in our task of dealing with digital gaps and bringing the digital world closer to everyone", concludes Alcorta.
