¡The Network of Telecentres of Catalonia was born in 2002, when the Parliament of Catalonia approved the Pact for the promotion and development of the information society to the Catalan public administrations. One of the fundamental aspects of this pact was the creation of a network of public Internet access points with the aim of minimizing the risk of digital fracture and guaranteeing territorial balance and social cohesion.
The ICT Points are more than 500 reference centers and integrating spaces that enhance the community and / or economic dynamization of the territory. In recent years, many of them have made an evolution from digital literacy towards digital social innovation, to empower citizens to make free and responsible use of technology.
