This autumn, the 'ENGINY-era' association , a Girona-based entity that promotes various activities around learning STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), has launched a television program. The 'STEM in Action' initiative is designed for a children's audience, boys and girls aged 6 to 12, and combines entertainment, learning and gender equality with a fun and dynamic format and seeks to awaken scientific and technological vocations from childhood, as well as break stereotypes that still limit female participation in STEM disciplines. In total, six episodes are planned, which feature the participation of Tecni, played by Sílvia Planella Oriol, creator, producer and director of the 'STEM in Action' initiative, and Ciènciu, played by Marc Francisco, two characters who raise questions and resolve doubts. Specifically, the episodes include two permanent capsules that enrich the content: the women's capsule, which presents a STEM reference woman linked to the theme of the program with the aim of offering girls and boys inspiring female role models, and the workshop capsule, which explains step by step simple and practical experiments that children can replicate at home or in the classroom, reinforcing learning in an experiential way. The first four episodes of the 'STEM in action' initiative, chapter 1 on colors, chapter 2 on industrial engineering, chapter 3 on plant-based drinks and chapter 4 on forces and efforts, have been broadcast on Televisió de Girona. The last two episodes of the first edition of the successful proposal will be broadcast soon. Subsequently, the program will also be broadcast on the Xarxa de Televisions Locals de Catalunya.
