Europe is launching a new edition of the European Digital Skills Awards in order to give visibility to initiatives that work for the digital future of Europe and the promotion of digital skills. Specifically, the awards propose five categories that reflect the diversity of needs linked to digital training. The first category is the improvement of digital skills at work , designed for initiatives focused on the digital retraining of professionals. The second category is digital skills for education , designed for initiatives specifically aimed at improving the digital skills of teachers or students. The third category is inclusion in the digital world , designed for initiatives focused on the digital training of people suffering from poverty, social exclusion, discrimination and violence or initiatives that promote digital accessibility skills. The fourth category is women in ICT professions , designed for initiatives that increase the representation of women, offer opportunities to improve digital skills in the labor market and encourage technological vocations among girls. The fifth category is cybersecurity skills , designed for initiatives that promote the development of security skills within the digital world for citizens and organizations.

The third edition of the European Digital Skills Awards is open to public centres, private centres, academic institutions, research institutions, training institutions, educational centres, small businesses, medium-sized enterprises, large companies, consortia, public administrations, organisations and citizen initiatives. The finalists will be announced at an online event in the spring. In this vein, the European Digital Skills Awards 2026 award ceremony will take place in Brussels during the month of June.
