On a regular basis, the Punt Òmnia of Santa Coloma de Cervelló carries out various actions to work on digital skills in matters of security and responsibility with children, adolescents and young people in the municipality. In this vein, this autumn, the Punt TIC, with the collaboration of the Local Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra, has started a series of talks on Safe Internet for children in 5th and 6th years of Primary School and 1st year of Secondary School. The sessions aim to prevent the unwanted effects of misuse of screens in general, and of mobile phones in particular. Therefore, the Punt Òmnia of Santa Coloma de Cervelló, the security forces and the educational community are committed to a participatory and empowering methodology, where students express their doubts, raise their questions and explain their real experiences and the rest of their classmates are encouraged to try to find answers and propose possible solutions and alternatives. In this way, the development of the students' critical spirit towards new technologies and empowerment in decision-making is promoted. At the same time, the facilitators provide interesting information on the different types of cybercrimes or other digital risks with the aim of contributing to creating a safer, more critical, more aware and more responsible technological environment.
