Next Wednesday, April 15, the Transformative Innovation Unit of the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia will organize an innovation camp on cybersecurity and the digital divide. The session, which is part of the 'Regions of Knowledge' project, will take place from 12:00 in the Auditorium of the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia, located at Carrer del Doctor Junyent, number 1, in the town of Vic. Aimed at companies, entities and agents in the territory, the innovation camp will address two challenges: the role of citizens in cybersecurity and community action and of public administration for digital inclusion. Previously, several conferences and interventions linked to the two complex challenges will be offered.
Therefore, at 10 am, the institutional welcome will be given by Joan Martínez, president of TIC Osona, and Eva Espasa, vice-rector for research and knowledge transfer of the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia. Next, five presentations will be given: 'The main cyber scams that affect companies' by Manel Garcia, head of information security at the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, 'How to report a cybersecurity incident' by Roger Sales, head of the virtual region of the Mossos d'Esquadra, 'Regulatory compliance in cybersecurity' by Rafael Gimeno, lawyer specializing in digital law at UNEON - ASCICAT and Sinergia, 'Cyber threats: a present and future reality' by Joan Busquiel, director of the ICT Area at the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia, TIC Osona and Sinergia, and 'Tools and aids for innovating in technology and cybersecurity' by Carles Miranda, head of industry 4.0 and sustainability at ACCIÓ. Next, Mar Beneyto, professor at the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia and researcher at GREUV and LISD, will present the Vic Digital Facilitation Network, which will seek to become a practical case on how to promote digital democratization.
After a short break to foster synergies, links and relationships between participants, the innovation field on cybersecurity and the digital divide will be held in order to seek joint solutions to two complex challenges: the role of citizens in cybersecurity and community action and of public administration for digital inclusion. In parallel, there will be brief meetings, lasting fifteen minutes, between companies and professionals to detect cybersecurity needs, resolve doubts and explore options for action or future lines of work. Before closing the day, the conclusions of the different spaces will be shared.
