The promotion of blockchain and DLT technologies is a priority of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia and, in this sense, it promotes the Blockchain Strategy of Catalonia, coordinated by the Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration, with which A program of actions will be deployed to support the development of the blockchain and DLT ecosystem in the territory.
This report helps to know what are the challenges, proposals and solutions developed by the technological community to solve the need for scaling of blockchain networks.
What is scalability on the blockchain?
One of the main challenges of blockchain technology, especially public blockchain networks, is its adoption. To meet this challenge, it is necessary to guarantee the scalability of blockchain networks. The concept of scalability refers to the capacity of a network to handle an increasing amount of work and to assume this increase in services and requests.
Adding to the challenge of providing scalability is ensuring that network security and decentralization are not affected.
