In the months of April, May and June, the 'Play Utopia' video game club will return to the Casal de Barri Besòs i Maresme to play, talk, debate and rethink social problems and imagine desirable alternative futures.
This quarter, the video game club 'Play Utopia' will once again schedule sessions to discuss the future at the Casal de Barri Besòs i Maresme, located at Cristóbal de Moura Street, number 232, in the city of Barcelona. Specifically, these will take place on Fridays 10 and 24 April, Fridays 8 and 22 May and Friday 5 June from 5 to 7 pm. In this sense, the activity consists of talking about video games, their design, their art, their narrative or their emotions, and rethinking social problems and imagining desirable alternative futures. Aimed at boys and girls aged 14 and over and led by a team of educators, the initiative has been developed at the Casal de Barri Besòs i Maresme since 2023 following an idea by Kevin Marín Rubio, a predoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona. The proposal has several seasons where boys and girls play, talk, debate and think about topics of interest. The objective of the 'Play Utopia' video game club is to create imaginaries of futures that are desirable, opening spaces for criticism, appropriating video games as a cultural medium and promoting transformative action in the territory.
Interested families can sign up in person at the Besòs i Maresme Neighborhood Center.
