This autumn, Catalunya Impacta returns, a recognition program for the best initiatives that value the transformative nature of the new information and communication technologies on the economic fabric and on the social fabric of Catalunya. The Cercle Tecnològic de Catalunya has presented the second edition of the initiative and has opened the period for submitting candidacies. Companies that want to make their digital transformation projects visible can submit their candidacies in one of the three categories called for: the primary sector, the industrial sector and the services sector.

Therefore, within the primary sector, projects are planned that will transform the agricultural, livestock, fishing and extractive industries, that will allow a more efficient use and management of natural resources, implement production monitoring and control systems and ensure traceability and transparency. Then, within the industrial sector, projects are planned that promote profound changes in industrial systems and in the manufacturing fabric, bringing the reality of an Industry 4.0 closer, such as production automation systems, predictive maintenance of industrial assets, connectivity and monitoring of the production process. Next, within the services sector, projects are planned that represent a qualitative leap in the business models of service companies thanks to the application of new technologies, such as the optimization of the logistics chain and the transport of goods, improving the experience and satisfaction of users in retail trade, transformations in the field of tourism promotion and leisure and entertainment services.
