On Tuesday, October 28, the second edition of the European 4D Conference became a day of debate and action on how to make truly democratic digitalization possible at the service of people and fundamental rights. The meeting delved into digital rights and their violations, exchanged experiences on policies and actions and generated proposals for improvement aimed at public administration and civil society. The European 4D Conference was attended by prominent people such as Rasha Abdul Rahim, strategist in technology, human rights and social justice, who gave the opening speech. This was followed by the presentation of two pioneering initiatives in the field of digital public infrastructures and digital commons by Arvind Gupta, co-initiator of 'The India Stack', and Adriana Groh, co-founder of 'The Sovereign Tech Fund'. Next, Pep Masoliver, Accent Obert's technology director, focused on the relationships between the Internet, access and ownership and explained the case of LaLiga, and Simona Levi, author of the book '#FakeYou', Sergio Salgado, member of XNET, and Quique Badia Masoni, journalist specializing in the study of propaganda, closed the morning with reflections on the disinformation industry.
Promoted by Accent Obert , which works to defend cultural rights and a quality internet for Catalan-speaking citizens in the digital society, and XNET , the Institute for Democratic Digitalization, which is a network of specialists and activists that proposes advanced solutions in different fields related to democratic digitalization, digital rights and the updating of democracy, the European 4D Conference continued in the afternoon with the awards of the '4D' call, three experiences on interoperability and data within the Catalan third sector, artificial intelligence and the international action network 'Public AI', Cory Doctorow's presentation on how to regain control of technology and a collective dynamic.
